NAME: PATRIOT
AGE: 15 Yrs old BREED: BAY ARABIAN MIX - GELDING HANDS: 15.2 Hands tall INJURIES/RESTRICTIONS: No injuries or restrictions at this time! He’s as healthy as a horse! HISTORY: Patriot is a Texan. Unfortunately, Patriot had a rough start in life and was left to starve. When he arrived at MJM he was extremely malnourished weighing roughly 500 lbs and had a very contagious and often fatal viral infection called Strangles. He was also abused with his bit and took roughly an entire year to earn his trust and get him back to a position where he trusted us and began to thrive again. He has since been adopted by one of the rescue volunteers and board member Rachel and has shown such progress and continues to grow and learn. He has a 'main character' attitude and is adored by everyone he meets. SKILL SET LEVEL: Patriot knows his ground work and has great manners. This makes Patriot a great horse to take in parades and to social events which he has joined many! He and his owner Rachel are learning many skills together and continue to learn and try new things. In 2024 he will have ran his second consecutive Pony Express Re-ride! CURRENT DIET: Patriot is currently on a simple diet of mixed grains once a day and hay 24 hours. He does not require any additional supplements or medications at this time. MORE ABOUT Patriot: Fun Fact: Patriot is currently smitten with one of the mares in the herd and can be seen following her around like a lovesick puppy. That’s the amazing heart Patriot has. He is so welcoming to others who join the herd, he is very approachable by adults and children. He has a special skill of sniffing out any type of treat or crumbs of a treat you may have forgotten about in your jacket pocket. Patriot has such a lovely look that he very much resembles the Breyar horse figures. He can prance and put on a great show! Patriot has been a part of many events such as the Apple Jack parade in Nebraska City, NE and the Fall City Jingle Bell rides where he helps collect donated gifts, just to name a few! Since he loves attention so much he can be seen photo bombing anyone trying to take a selfie or pic in the pasture. Like a true Texan he is kind and has great manners. Stop by and see Patriot, He would love to meet you but don’t forget the treats!
